Selling the Farm

Selling the Farm

Jacoby and his Mom and Dad had such a great time traveling the U.S. that they came up with the crazy idea of selling their home and doing it each winter for the foreseeable future.

So by the time they arrived back home to 36 Thomas Farm Circle in Shrewsbury in April of 2018, their realtor (Becky Dalke) had already given them an estimate and told them that the Spring market was really hot.

She was right!  We had an open house during a weekend in May and the house was sold within a week. Our plan, going forward, was to live full-time at the Bluffs in NH from April to October, and then head back out on the road during the colder months of November to March.

So we put our house on the market, and Steve made a thousand runs to a local storage unit as we tried to cram as much of our house as possible into a small area!

We had one more visit from Becky and Mike to the house of Becky’s youth!

And finally, Matthew, Momma, Dad, and Jacoby took one final picture on our front step.

Jacoby was a favorite neighborhood dog, and many neighbors would miss his walks and travels around the ‘hood!

What a crazy thing to do! Over the next few years we would be “homeless”, living cross-country, at our trailer in Freedom, at the Cape, and eventually (when COVID hit) with Aunt Julie in Lawrence, MA. It would be almost three years (July 2018 – February 2021) until we moved into Jacoby’s final home at 29 Waverly Road in North Andover!
